OUR DIRECTOR

DR. JACK SCHMIDT

Dr. Jack Schmidt is Associate Professor of Music and Chair of the Departments of English and Liberal Arts at Delaware Valley College.  He received a B.M. from Wheaton College, an M.M. from DePaul University and a Ph.D in musicology from Northwestern University

Dr. Schmidt has conducted numerous instrumental and vocal ensembles, including performances at the 1996 Oregon Bach festival.  He has recorded CD’s for Polygram and Liturgical Press with the Schola Cantorum of Chicago and recently directed the Delaware Valley College Concert Band in their premiere cd.

In addition to teaching and conducting, Dr. Schmidt leads summer music study tours to Vienna, Salzburg and Venice. Prior to his appointment to Delaware Valley College, Dr. Schmidt was on the faculties of Towson University and Elgin Community college.
